New Delhi: TATA Lockheed Martin Aerostructures Ltd announced on Wednesday that it had delivered the 200th C-130J Super Hercules empennage, marking a significant milestone. The empennages, or tail structure, at the back of an aircraft, are made by the business, a joint venture between TATA Advanced Systems Ltd (TASL) and Lockheed Martin Aeronautics,

The company also claimed to be the sole global supplier of C-130J empennage assemblies, which are installed on all new Super Hercules aircraft built in Marietta, Georgia, in the United States.

“Today, we are really proud to have produced the 200th C-130J empennage here in India, which is a historic accomplishment. According to TASL CEO and Managing Director Sukaran Singh, over the course of more than ten years, our alliance has achieved unmatched production and operational excellence.

Each empennage produced by TLMAL, according to Lockheed Martin Vice President and General Manager of the Air Mobility & Maritime Missions line of business Rod McLean, physically helps the powerful Super Hercules take flight to support crucial missions that affect people’s lives and change the course of history.

According to the firm, leading edges and tip assemblies, as well as the aircraft’s horizontal and vertical stabilisers, are all parts of the empennage assembly. The TLMAL team has also produced centre wing box parts in the past for vintage C-130 model aircraft.
