Adani Group plans to dramatically increase its ammunition manufacturing capacity in response to increasing global demand, which is being driven mostly by geopolitical concerns. By the end of 2025, the corporation hopes to have doubled its yearly output of small weapons ammunition from 150 million to 300 million rounds. This development is part of a larger drive to strengthen India’s defences and lessen dependency on imports.
Adani Defence & Aerospace, the Adani Group’s defence business, intends to expand its small guns ammunition production capacity in order to fulfil domestic and worldwide demand. The business has already secured export orders for the next five years, demonstrating strong international demand for its products.
To facilitate this development, Adani is building a new plant devoted to large-calibre artillery shell production, with an initial capacity of 1,50,000 rounds of 155 mm ammunition per year. This facility is part of a bigger investment in military production, which also incorporates innovative technology and AI.
The Adani Group’s expansion into ammunition manufacture not only establishes it as a vital participant in the global weapons industry, but it also enhances India’s security infrastructure. Adani plans to provide about 50% of India’s yearly ammunition demands by expanding its capabilities, considerably contributing to national security and defence self-sufficiency.
