120 members of the Indian Army have left for Japan to take part in the sixth iteration of the joint military exercise known as “Dharma Guardian” between Japan and India. The dates of this exercise are set for February 24, 2025, through March 9, 2025.
In addition to soldiers from other arms and services, the majority of the Indian contingent will be represented by a battalion from the MADRAS Regiment. The 34th Infantry Regiment of the Japan Ground Self Defence Force (JGSDF) will represent Japan.
Under a UN mandate, Exercise Dharma Guardian aims to improve the two forces’ interoperability while conducting cooperative counterterrorism and urban warfare operations.
