One of the most cutting-edge artillery pieces in the world is the Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS) howitzer, which was created in the country. With the capacity to programme and fire future Long Range Guided Munitions (LRGM) for deep strike and accuracy, ATGAS is a large calibre gun system. created at the Armament Research & Development Establishment (ARDE) lab over a period of four years.

In August 2022, it was first utilised at the Red Fort’s 21-gun salute. Out of all these types of guns, the ATAGS Howitzer has the longest range, about 48 kilometres.
