In response to a report in the Guardian, India’s Defence Minister cited sources claiming that sleeper cells of a foreign intelligence agency in New Delhi were responsible for at least 20 assassinations in Pakistan of people deemed antagonistic to India.

“India desires cordial ties with each and every one of its neighbours. We have never attempted an invasion on another nation or attempted to seize even a little portion of their territory throughout our entire history. This is the nature of India.

The claim in the British journal was described as “false and fabricated” by officials earlier today. India merely alludes to border tensions and the elimination of terrorists who constitute a threat to India’s sovereignty when it states, “We will eliminate terrorists by entering their homes.”

Similar accusations against India for attempting to eradicate separatists have been made in the US. Nonetheless, the New Delhi government has consistently denied these accusations.

The minister of external affairs, S Jaishankar, has stated that India does not support targeted assassinations in other nations.
