The Chandrayaan-3 Mission Team has been chosen by Space Foundation to receive the 2024 John L. “Jack” Swigert Jr Award for Space Exploration, the organisation announced earlier in January.

The first country to set foot on the Moon’s South Pole was India. According to the Space Foundation, the Indian Space Research Organization’s Chandrayaan-3 mission expands humanity’s goals for space research into new and fruitful domains for comprehension and collaboration.

Moreover, the technological and engineering feats this mission showcases demonstrate to the world the unquestionable leadership and resourcefulness of the Indian people in the global space ecosystem.

CEO of Space Foundation Heather Pringle stated in a news release that “India’s leadership in space is an inspiration to the world.” “The entire Chandrayaan-3 team’s groundbreaking work has raised the bar for space exploration once again, and their incredible lunar landing is an inspiration to us all,” he continued.
