AUTSTRALIA’S NIGHT SKY IS ILLUMINATED BY CHANDRAYAAN-3

World News

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched Chandrayaan-3 on July 14 aboard the heavy-lift GSLV MK-III (LVM-3) rocket. This was India’s third lunar exploration mission. 20 minutes after the spacecraft launched from Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh’s Satish Dhawan Space Centre, ISRO said that it had entered its precise orbit and was on its way to the Moon.

Over the next month, the spacecraft will travel to the Moon, where it will settle on August 23 or 24 of this year. People in the area of the ISRO facility in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, observed the launch of Chandrayaan-3 live, and millions more watched the coverage online. Currently, a photo of Chandrayaan-3 illuminating the night sky over Australia is making the rounds on social media and stunning users with its beauty.

Just spent 30 minutes watching the Indian space agency’s moon rocket launch on YouTube and fly over my house! Salutations, @isro! I hope you stick the landing,” Dylan O’Donnell tweeted alongside a photo. O’Donnell, who shoots from the Byron Bay Observatory in Australia for the Deography picture blog, also writes for Celestron & Photographing Space and does science outreach programmes for students and schools, according to his YouTube channel.

The image has had over 7.4 lakh views since it was shared two days ago, and the figures are still rising. Additionally, the image has gotten more than 12,200 likes and a tonne of comments from online users.

Following are some responses to the widely shared image of Chandrayaan-3 in the night sky over Australia:

Is this a typical photo or a long exposure shot? a commenter asked. Wonderfully captured!” O’Donnell responded: “2 second exposure.” Amazing click, said another. Another person said, “Awesome capture.” A fourth said, “I appreciate you sharing. One more asked, “Is this from a specific location like Perth or Sydney or visible in all or most of Australia?” How tall was the rocket at this particular moment. Knowing that would be intriguing. Brilliant shot,” a sixth said. “Cool shot,” chimed in the sixth. I had no idea it would be seen in Australia! Thank you for revealing.
