A vehicle was targeted, according to Mamund Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sattar Khan. He also said that a remote control was used to set the bomb off, according to Dawn.

According to Khan, the injured were transferred to the hospital at the Khar district headquarters (DHQ) for medical attention.

Nazeer Khan, a Bajaur District Police Officer (DPO), told Dawn that the device went off as the passengers were returning home after Friday prayers. Khan added that an inquiry is being carried out and that the area has been cordoned off by the police.

The attack took place a day after two separate attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa claimed the lives of five policemen. Additionally, according to Dawn, 12 individuals were hurt during the attacks, including 9 police officers.

An official complex was targeted by terrorists in the Bara Bazaar of the Khyber district. In addition, a police station in Peshawar’s Regi Model Town neighbourhood came under attack.

Terrorist activity has increased in Pakistan, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Baluchistan. After the illegal Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) broke their truce with the government in November of last year, there has been an uptick in terrorist operations.

According to a report from the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies, which was published in July, the number of terror and suicide strikes increased steadily and alarmingly in the first half of this year, according to Dawn. The research states that 389 persons in Pakistan have died as a result of these attacks.

According to The News International, which cited the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), three Pakistani soldiers were killed last week in Baluchistan’s Sui area after engaging in combat with heavily equipped terrorists.

Two terrorists were also reportedly killed in the exchange of fire, according to the media wing of the Pakistani army. The ISPR statement was cited by The News International as saying that “security forces are maintaining pressure and clearance operation is underway to apprehend remaining terrorists as well.”

Security forces “remain unwavered” in their efforts to identify and defeat the enemies of peace in Balochistan and Pakistan, it was noted.

In a related incident, terrorists assaulted the Zhob garrison in Baluchistan early on Wednesday, killing four Pakistani army soldiers and gravely injuring five more, according to Pakistan’s Dawn, which cited the military’s media affairs division. Three “heavily armed terrorists” have reportedly been slain thus far, according to the news report.
