In an online speech at the 38th Foundation Day of the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC), S Krishnan, Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), stressed the value of private sector cooperation in developing India’s technological landscape. He emphasized CDAC’s supercomputing accomplishments and collaborations with other organizations, but he also emphasized the necessity of more advancements through joint research between academic institutions and commercial enterprises.
Krishnan also mentioned programs like the VEGA program for open-source chip design and domestic server development as examples of the government’s readiness to share technology with private sector partners in order to spur innovation.
Krishnan emphasized the significance of moving developed technologies to organizations that can scale and maintain them as well as establishing systems for upgrades through teamwork. Partnerships are crucial for maintaining technological advancements and guaranteeing broad availability, he said.
Speaking at the event, ISRO Chairman V Narayanan emphasized how India’s self-reliance has been fueled by technological denials. He pointed to ISRO’s accomplishments in rocket propulsion systems and CDAC’s creation of India’s first supercomputer as instances of overcoming outside obstacles to promote innovation.
