On March 26, 2025, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with Suzanne Clark, the US Chamber of Commerce’s president and chief executive officer, in New Delhi. Building robust supply chains, improving trade and investment relations, and fortifying the strategic alliance between the US and India were the main topics of discussion. On social media, Jaishankar highlighted the significance of these issues for both countries and expressed delight with the meeting.
With continuous attempts to develop a framework for the BTA that would benefit numerous industries, Jaishankar’s comments demonstrate a larger commitment from both governments to strengthen economic cooperation. The fact that India’s Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal just visited the US further demonstrates how actively the two nations are working to complete this deal.
