Defense Minister Rajnath Singh Expresses Deep Sadness Over Explosion at Maharashtra Ordnance Factory ANI

An explosion at the Ordnance Factory in Bhandara, Maharashtra, on January 24, 2025, claimed several lives. According to preliminary accounts, the explosion, which happened in the factory’s LTP department at around 10:30 AM and included 14 personnel at the time, claimed the lives of at least eight people.

Teams from the local medical and disaster response agencies are on the ground conducting rescue operations, looking for survivors and helping the injured.

Rajnath Singh, the minister of defense, conveyed his deep sorrow over the occurrence. He expressed his condolences to the relatives of the deceased and underlined that efforts are underway to offer support to those impacted by the tragedy in a message posted on social media site X. “Very saddened to learn about the explosion at the Ordnance Factory in Bhandara, Maharashtra,” he said. My sympathies to the families who have lost a loved one.

Confirming that one worker had died, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also sent his condolences, expressing sorrow for the families of the bereaved and praying for the injured. Rescue efforts are ongoing, and the situation is still dire.
