EAM Jaishankar meets counterparts in Munich during a security conference from Portugal, Poland, and Belgium.

On the fringes of the Munich Security Conference on Saturday, Poland, Belgium, and Portugal’s ambassadors were received by S. Jaishankar, the minister of external affairs.

During their meeting, the Portuguese Foreign Minister, Joao Cravinho, and the EAM exchanged opinions on recent world events.

Jaishankar tweeted, “Happy to meet FM of Portugal @JoaoCravinho, this time in Munich,” in a post on the social media site X.

“Shared views on recent global developments,” he stated.

The EAM and Poland’s Foreign Minister, Radoslaw Sikorski, spoke about bilateral collaboration in a variety of fields during their discussion.

“We had a thorough conversation on the Ukraine situation today on the MSC 2024 sidelines with FM @sikorskiradek of Poland. Additionally, we discussed our bilateral collaboration in various fields and exchanged opinions,” he posted.

According to the conference’s official statement, the MSC has brought together prominent decision-makers and thought leaders from around the globe for discussions on the most critical issues related to international security in February 2024, six decades after Ewald von Kleist founded it.

Jaishankar also paid Sheikh Hasina, the prime minister of Bangladesh, a call earlier today when she was present at the Munich Security Conference 2024. He congratulated the Awami League on winning a new mandate in the most recent national elections.

Using the social media platform X as his official platform, Jaishankar expressed his gratitude for the honour of meeting with Prime Minister Hasina and complimented her on the advancements made in promoting ‘India-Bangladesh Maitri’.

“I congratulated her on receiving a renewed mandate and valued the direction she provided in advancing India Bangladesh Maitri. #MSC2024.
