FAST PATROL VESSEL ICGS KAMLA DEVI DESIGNED AND BUILT BY GRSE

ICGS Kamla Devi, the Fast Patrol Vessel (FPV) designed, built, and delivered to the Indian Coast Guard a few days ago by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) Ltd, was commissioned in Kolkata on January 12, 2023.

The ICGS Kamla Devi is the fifth and last vessel in a series of FPVs designed and built by GRSE to Indian Coast Guard requirements. GRSE is the only Indian shipyard to have delivered 100 warships, and this ship is the 108th to be delivered by GRSE since it became a Defence Public Sector Undertaking in 1960. GRSE was also the first shipyard to export a warship to Mauritius, the Offshore Patrol Vessel MCGS Barracuda, in 2014.

ICGS Kamla Devi measures 48.9 metres long and 7.5 metres wide and weighs 308 tonnes. She has a top speed of 34 knots and a range of nearly 1,500 nautical miles thanks to three engines and water jets. She is also
