On September 10, 2025, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri met with Reem Al Hashimy, the UAE’s Special Envoy for India and Minister of State for International Cooperation, in New Delhi to conduct a thorough evaluation of the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Important domains like trade, investment, defense, security, technology, energy, education, culture, and people-to-people relationships are all included in this multifaceted collaboration. In addition to examining potential future collaboration in these areas, the talks centered on evaluating current projects and the execution of decisions made at earlier high-level gatherings.
Following a similar engagement in June 2025, the meeting assessed the bilateral relationship’s present status and potential for future cooperation. The Indian Embassy in the United Arab Emirates emphasized that their mid-year evaluation evaluated the expansion and growth of cooperation, reaffirming the ongoing strength of the two countries’ relationship, which has been molded by high-level visits and exchanges.
For the fiscal year 2024–2025, bilateral commerce totaled USD 100.05 billion, demonstrating the economic strength of this alliance. Additionally, opinions on regional and international matters of shared concern were discussed, with special focus on the state of affairs in West Asia as a whole.
In June 2025, Vikram Misri met with Reem Al Hashimy and other important UAE leaders, such as Ali Al Nuaim, the Federal National Council’s Chairman of the Defense, Interior, and Foreign Affairs Committee. As part of their strategic alignment, both parties emphasized increased legislative collaboration while restating their commitment to fighting terrorism in all of its manifestations.
Conversations with UAE Minister of Tolerance Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan were also held, during which Misri conveyed appreciation for the kind welcome given to an all-party Indian delegation. The common spirit of peace and tolerance that underlies India-UAE relations was highlighted in their discussions.
The ongoing high-level meetings and strategic discussions between the UAE and India show a strong alliance with the goal of expanding shared interests in a number of areas. With a thriving Indian diaspora of over 4.3 million in the United Arab Emirates, this continued partnership demonstrates not only the close historical and interpersonal ties but also a common goal for sustainable development, security cooperation, and cultural exchange for the benefit of the residents of both nations.
