With the upcoming launch of the Extended Trajectory-Long Duration Hypersonic Cruise Missile (ET-LDHCM), created under the Defense Research and Development Organization’s (DRDO) classified Project Vishnu, India is about to make a major military technological advancement. By enabling quick, accurate, and deep attacks into enemy territory, this missile is designed to revolutionize India’s strategic capabilities, especially in light of its security environment with regard to China and Pakistan.
A result of cutting-edge domestic technology, the ET-LDHCM has a scramjet engine that enables it to maintain hypersonic speeds of up to Mach 8 (about 11,000 km/h) for prolonged periods of time.
