General Anil Chauhan, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), highlighted the Indian Army’s crucial function as the “bedrock of India’s security” in a recent speech on January 15, 2025. In the face of changing obstacles in modern combat brought on by technology developments and shifting geopolitical dynamics, he emphasized the army’s tradition of adaptation, sovereignty maintenance, and selfless service to the nation.
In his speech, Gen. Chauhan praised the Indian Army’s unwavering efforts to maintain high operational readiness and guarantee civilians’ safety and well-being in all situations. He said that the army’s dedication to excellence in a range of operational areas is admirable and crucial for maintaining national security.
