By permitting the building of the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi, Prime Minister Narendra said that the UAE had created a “golden chapter” in human history and that this would unite people of all cultures and backgrounds in harmony and culture.

According to an official press release, on February 14, Mahant Swami Maharaj dedicated the historic BAPS Hindu Mandir, the first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the distinguished Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence for the UAE, Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan.

The temple was designed and inspired by Mahant Swami Maharaj, the ruler of Abu Dhabi and president of the United Arab Emirates, on land kindly donated by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Following his meetings with youngsters, volunteers, craftsmen, and other global supporters of the building of this magnificent temple, Prime Minister Modi inscribed ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ on a stone.

“The message of ‘The world is one family’ has been the foundational principle of the Mandir, guided by the life and work of Mahant Swami Maharaj,” stated the announcement.

“Today, the UAE has written a golden chapter in the history of humanity through this Mandir,” Prime Minister Modi declared in his keynote speech.

In his remarks, Mahant Swami Maharaj underlined the significance of the new Mandir as “an abode of love, peace, and harmony.”
