The MEA Secretary stated that India and Moldova’s bilateral relations are expected to strengthen moving forward on his Twitter account.

I had the honour of speaking with H.E. Mr. Vladimir Bolea, Moldova’s deputy prime minister and minister of agriculture. We are pleased that the Moldovan Embassy has opened in New Delhi. Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, the state minister for agriculture and farmers’ welfare, and Vladimir Bolea, deputy prime minister and minister of agriculture and food industries of Moldova, met at Krishi Bhawan earlier on Monday.

Sushri Shobha Karandlaje welcomed the delegation of the Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova and referred to the 31 years of cordial diplomatic ties between India and Moldova.

She emphasised how happy she was that the Moldovan Resident Mission in New Delhi had opened. The Indian Minister also brought up the United Nations’ decision to designate 2023 as the International Years of Millets (IYOM) on the recommendation of the Indian government, and he emphasised the advantages of millets for both health and the environment, according to a Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare official statement.

The potential for expanding bilateral commerce in agricultural commodities and enhancing bilateral agricultural cooperation through the sharing of knowledge and technology was stressed by both Ministers.

Vladimir Bolea also expressed his congratulations to India on achieving the ranking of fifth-largest economy and for holding the G20 Presidency.

According to the press release, “He recommended signing a Memorandum of Understanding for collaboration between the two countries in the sector of agriculture, providing an institutional basis for cooperation between the two countries.
