The White House has formally declared that the incoming Trump administration will be in charge of carrying out the upcoming TikTok ban. This declaration comes after the U.S. Supreme Court recently ruled unanimously in favor of a federal legislation that requires TikTok’s parent firm, ByteDance, to divest the app or risk being banned beginning January 19, 2025.
The timing of the law’s execution makes it proper for the future administration to act, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stressed.
