Vinay Mohan Kwatra, India’s Foreign Secretary, said on Friday that the Voice of the Global South Summit had a strong and encouraging reaction from around the world.

“The summit’s overarching theme was unity of voice and unity of purpose. The initiative drew participation from 125 countries. This includes 29 countries from the Caribbean and Latin America, 47 from Africa, seven from Europe, and 31 from Asia, indicating a robust and positive response from around the world through the summit “Kwatra made the remarks during a special online briefing on the Voice of the Global South Summit.

Kwatra displayed infographics depicting worldwide summit attendance.

He stated that India has maintained constant interaction with G20 member countries.

According to Kwatra, India’s G20 presidency will be the first to claim to have conveyed the thoughts and perspectives of the entire developing world, rather than simply the rich economies’ perspective.

He stated that nearly all countries accepted India’s invitation and attended the summit. “Participants congratulated Narendra Modi for his personal leadership in conceiving and crystallising the voice of the global south at a time when the developing world is experiencing various problems throughout the political and economic realm,” the Foreign Secretary said.

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the global south values the notion of globalisation and that India views the entire globe as one family. He stated that the south desires a human-centered globalisation that offers prosperity and well-being to humanity.

“We all value the concept of globalisation. India has always seen the entire world as a one family. Developing countries want globalisation that does not cause a climatic disaster, unequal vaccine distribution, or over-concentration of global supply networks. We want globalisation to offer humanity prosperity and well-being. We desire human-centered globalisation “The Prime Minister made the remarks during the final leaders’ session of The Voice of the Global South Summit.

The Prime Minister stated that more than 120 developing countries participated in the Voice of Global South Summit over the last two days, making it the largest-ever virtual assembly of the global south.

He stated that poor countries had had a challenging three years.

“The last three years have been difficult, particularly for developing countries. The problems of a worldwide pandemic, rising fuel prices, and geopolitical tensions have all had an impact on our development efforts “Prime Minister Modi stated.

He did, however, state that the new year represents a new beginning.
