Bangalore-based Astrome Technologies, a deep-tech start-up, has successfully raised $10 million in funding, mostly from the Apollo Fund and with additional contributions from the IAN Group. The company’s goal in this funding round, which was revealed on January 27, 2025, is to improve its wireless connectivity technology capabilities and make it easier for it to enter the satellite communication market.
Neha Satak, the CEO of Astrome, emphasized that this investment is in line with the company’s mission to increase global connectivity by developing cutting-edge satellite and terrestrial communications solutions. The money will be used to increase market presence, grow product lines, and scale operations.
Notably, Astrome’s flagship product, GigaMesh, integrates with optical fiber systems to support advanced connectivity options like 5G and 6G. Its point-to-multipoint connectivity and electronic auto link alignment are designed to improve network performance and lower deployment costs.
By offering high-bandwidth connectivity in a variety of settings, Astrome’s technology focuses on creating patented millimeter-wave E-band radios and satellite communication products that seek to close the digital divide. The business intends to use this additional funding to expand its production capabilities and investigate foreign markets by forming alliances with international original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
Along with its technological innovations, Astrome has a clientele that includes organizations such as the Indian Army and Navy and has previously worked with the Indian government to improve broadband access in rural areas.
