Today, an Israeli delegation will travel to Qatar to negotiate hostages.

To continue talks on a hostage deal in the Gaza Strip, Israel is sending a delegation to Doha, Qatar today. High-ranking representatives from the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), Shin Bet (the Israeli Security Agency), and Mossad intelligence agency are part of this mission, which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved.The release of hostages abducted during the violence that intensified after an October 7, 2023, Hamas attack is the topic of the talks. About 100 of the 250 people who were kidnapped are thought to still be alive, while the remaining people are assumed to be dead. Support for this negotiation attempt has been voiced by the captives and Missing Families Forum, which has emphasized the need for a quick deal to ensure the return of all captives.

In the past, negotiations have been difficult, and Israel and Hamas have blamed one another for the deadlocked discussions. Nonetheless, other sources express cautious optimism about the possibility of advancement in these conversations.
