WORLD LEADERS AT THE ‘OUTREACH NATION’ SESSION OF THE G7 SUMMIT SET FOR A ‘FAMILY PHOTO’

During Friday night’s ‘Outreach Nation’ session of the G7 Summit, world leaders posed for a family portrait.

The leaders of the European Union and its external guests, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pope Francis, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, along with leaders of the G7 countries—US President Joe Biden, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Italy’s PM Giorgia Meloni, Japan PM Fumio Kishida, and French President Emmanuel Macron—posed for a group photo at the event in Italy.

Along with the family photo, PM Modi posted a message on X that read, “With world leaders at the @G7 Summit in Italy.”

He also emphasised India’s commitment to developing strong ties with Africa, pointing to the historic occasion when, while India was serving as G20 president, the African Union became a permanent member.

PM Modi spoke during the G7 Outreach Session on Africa, the Mediterranean, and AI and Energy. Among other topics, he spoke on the revolutionary role that technology plays in the advancement of humanity.

The need of cyber security has also been reinforced by the increasing use of technology in many facets of human life.

On the basis of Mission LiFE, India is attempting to bring in a Green Era. PM Modi’s article also emphasised the “Ek Ped Ma Ke Naam” initiative, which aims to increase environmental sustainability.

Interestingly, India took part in the Group of Seven (G7) Summit as a host nation.

After taking power for a third consecutive term, PM Modi is travelling overseas for the first time.
