While meeting with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar recently hailed the “centuries-old” connections between Kuwait and India. As part of Jaishankar’s trip to Kuwait, which aimed to improve bilateral ties in a number of areas, this meeting was held on December 3–4, 2024.

Jaishankar emphasized the camaraderie and goodwill that have always defined India-Kuwait relations, pointing out that these connections are currently developing into a more modern partnership. In addition to thanking everyone for the cordial welcome, he emphasized the sizeable Indian population in Kuwait, which accounts for almost 30% of the labor force.

Political cooperation, trade, investment, energy, security, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people relations were among the many subjects discussed by the two foreign ministers. Reviewing current bilateral activities and looking at potential avenues for additional cooperation on regional and global problems of shared interest were other goals of Jaishankar’s visit.

The two countries’ dedication to strengthening their long-standing friendship and working together to address current issues is demonstrated by this summit.
