Highlights of the Invest Kerala Global Summit India’s Search for Homegrown Fighter Jets and Warships

India’s ambitious plan to produce its own fighter jets and warships has been brought to light at the Invest Kerala Global Summit 2025, with a focus on the importance of Kerala in this endeavor.

Nearly all of the Indian Navy’s warships are being built in-country, including a significant proportion of local materials. This is in line with India’s “Atmanirbharta” policy, which aims to make the country more self-sufficient in its defense production.

The goal of the summit’s sessions was to position India as a leader in defense technologies worldwide. In order to foster innovation, cooperation between the public and commercial sectors was highly valued.

The state is a perfect center for the aerospace and defense industry because of its advantageous location, highly qualified people, and IT sector. In order to become a key player in these industries, participants advised Kerala to take advantage of these advantages.

Significant investment commitments were made at the summit in a number of industries, including defense and aerospace. During the ceremony, investments totaling ₹1.5 Lakh Crores were announced.

India’s dedication to developing its own military hardware and Kerala’s ability to play a significant role in this endeavor by boosting investment and innovation in the aerospace and defense industries were both highlighted at the Invest Kerala Global Summit.
