The second Integrated Air Drop Test, or IADT-02, was successfully completed by the Indian Space Research Organization as part of the ongoing Gaganyaan mission preparations.
The Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota hosted this crucial experiment on April 10.
This particular system’s main goal is to ensure the crew module’s safe return.
During human spaceflight operations, especially during the crucial stages of atmospheric re-entry and the final landing on Earth, this module functions as the specialized capsule intended to house astronauts.
Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, publicly announced the accomplishment on the social media site X.
He congratulated the national space agency on achieving this important technological milestoneThe Minister emphasized in his statement that the Gaganyaan project, which is currently scheduled for next year, is India’s first attempt at human spaceflight. He emphasized that this second test’s successful completion at the Satish Dhawan Space Station is a crucial sign of the mission’s general preparedness.Indian military history
This most recent achievement comes after the Indian Space Research Organization accomplished the first Integrated Air Drop Test, known as IADT-01, on August 24, 2025.
The more recent success in the mission’s development schedule was made possible by that first test, which was also carried out at the Sriharikota facility.
