Late on December 14, 2024, an emergency medical evacuation from Lakshadweep was carried out by the Indian Navy. To help in the operation, a Dornier plane was sent from INS Garuda near Kochi. Because it made sure the patient got the medical care they needed as soon as possible, the evacuation was both crucial and timely.
At around 3:30 AM on December 15, the plane successfully brought the patient to Kochi, where they could be transferred right away to a government hospital for additional care.
The Indian Navy’s dedication to offering vital medical assistance in isolated areas, especially in times of emergency, is demonstrated by this action.
