Armoured Vehicles Nigam Places ₹809 Crore Order With Bharat Dynamics

A major domestic order worth ₹809 crore (gross) has been secured by Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), a prominent defense public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, from Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL) for the supply of one of its Anti-Tank Guided Missiles (ATGMs).

This order will be carried out over a three-year period, giving BDL a well-organized schedule to effectively plan and complete the contract.

The Konkurs-M ATGM, a second-generation missile essential to the Indian Army’s armored infantry vehicles, which BDL produces under license with considerable indigenization efforts, may be the subject of the order, according to industry insiders.

The Indian Army is better prepared for battle thanks to this missile system, which is renowned for its accuracy, capacity to hit heavily armored targets, and engagement range of 75 to 4,000 meters.

BDL has made it clear that the order does not amount to a related party transaction and that its promoter, promoter group, or related entities have no interests in AVNL. In line with government programs like Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, which aim to increase self-reliance in vital defense technology, the contract further solidifies BDL’s growing position in India’s defense manufacturing ecosystem.

This order greatly improves BDL’s chances of making money and solidifies its place as a major participant in India’s strategic defense industry. Recently, the company’s share price has increased, which is indicative of favorable market sentiment linked to its expanding order book. This contract highlights BDL’s crucial role in providing the Indian armed forces with cutting-edge missile systems and supplements other sizable defense contracts the company has already secured this year.

An key milestone for Bharat Dynamics Limited is the ₹809 crore order from AVNL for Anti-Tank Guided Missiles, which will be delivered over three years and improve the company’s ability to support Indian defense readiness, domestic manufacturing, and long-term revenue growth.
