The Indian Army emphasized the importance of “Operation Sindoor” on Saturday, stressing that it was a determined message to enemies rather than just a military operation.
Op Sindoor, according to Major General Kaushik Mukherji, General Officer Commanding the Ace of Spades Division, was a potent declaration of India’s determination to protect its people and eliminate threats with steadfast determination and accuracy.
He referred to the operation as a “red line drawn in blood and steel,” making it clear that any harm to Indian people would be responded with overwhelming, fast, and precise force.
In his speech, Maj Gen Mukherji praised the outstanding citizen contributions made during Operation Sindoor. He emphasized the vital assistance given by the local population, which included building civilian bunkers and dual-purpose shelters, assisting with the evacuation of casualties, storing necessities, and holding civil defense exercises throughout the districts of Rajouri and Poonch. He pointed out that these initiatives played a crucial role in maintaining society’s cohesion and resilience in the face of serious danger.
25 notable people from a variety of backgrounds were felicitated at the ceremony in recognition of their enormous contributions during Operation Sindoor. The honored civilians were instrumental in aiding the military, especially during difficult rescue and humanitarian missions.
Their bravery and dedication were essential to bringing things back to normal and preserving the community’s cohesiveness. The ceremony’s attendees thanked the military for their efforts during the operation and pledged their continuing support for any future initiatives.
A movie showcasing the combined efforts and contributions of the local civilian population and the military to the success of Operation Sindoor was shown before the event got underway. A two-minute silence was then observed in honor of those who gave their life, including Shri Raj Kumar Thapa, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADDC) Rajouri, who was one of those honored posthumously.
Following the terror assault in Pahalgam on April 22, which killed 26 visitors, including a local, the military responded forcefully with Operation Sindoor. Using their great traditions of bravery and patriotism, which were displayed in the 1948, 1965, and 1971 conflicts, the people of Rajouri and Poonch stood shoulder to shoulder with the military forces during the operation. Despite suffering personal casualties, the local population put in a lot of effort in support of the troops, which eventually prevailed and brought peace back to the area.
The rich history of bravery and patriotism among the residents of Rajouri and Poonch was reaffirmed by Lt Col Suneel Bartwal, PRO and spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence, Jammu. He mentioned that in order to honor the people who were instrumental in Operation Sindoor, the Ace of Spades Division held an emotional felicitation event at Rajouri.
Senior civil administration officers, physicians, veterans, and their families attended the ceremony, demonstrating the close relationships and respect that exist between the military and the communities.
The cooperation between the Indian Army and the civilian populace in combating terrorism and reestablishing normalcy is demonstrated by Operation Sindoor. In addition to eliminating immediate dangers, the operation strengthened the enduring sense of solidarity, fortitude, and patriotism that characterizes the people of Rajouri and Poonch.
The Indian Army’s dedication to defending the country and maintaining the valued relationship with its residents is reaffirmed by the felicitations given to civilians, which also acknowledge their valor.
