All-party delegations from India have met with world leaders, diplomats, and lawmakers on several continents in a show of worldwide solidarity against terrorism, highlighting the pressing need for coordinated international measures to combat the terrorist threat.
These delegations’ recent diplomatic missions to Jakarta, Riyadh, Freetown, Pretoria, Panama City, and Rome demonstrate India’s unwavering dedication to world peace and security.
In their meetings with government officials, ambassadors, and representatives from academic institutions and think tanks, the delegations—each headed by a senior Indian lawmaker from a different political party—have delivered a resounding and cohesive national message of zero tolerance for cross-border terrorism.
The Sierra Leone Parliament paid tribute to the victims of the recent Pahalgam terror attack by observing a moment of silence for the delegation led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Eknath Shinde. In their meeting with Muana Brima Massaquoi, the deputy defense minister of Sierra Leone, the delegation gave him an update on India’s counterterrorism strategy and reaffirmed India’s uncompromising anti-terrorism position. This visit highlights India’s larger endeavor to engage the international community for regional and global peace, according to the Indian High Commission in Freetown.
JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha’s delegation met with ambassadors from 20 friendly nations in Jakarta. These ambassadors repeated the appeal for international cooperation in the fight against terrorism and vehemently denounced it in all of its manifestations. The group also met with National Mandate Party (PAN) leaders, who reaffirmed their support for India and offered their sympathies to the victims of the Pahalgam assault. The PAN leaders made it clear that terrorism cannot be justified on the basis of ethnicity or religion.
Citing the UNSC Statement of April 25, 2025, which highlights coordinated diplomatic action against terrorism and its backers, the Indian Embassy in Jakarta stated that the delegation called for diplomatic support for prosecuting those responsible. Reiterating India’s zero-tolerance stance for cross-border terrorism and emphasizing that the endgame necessitates Pakistan giving up all terrorist activities, dismantling terror infrastructure, and leaving Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, the group also spoke with Indonesian academics and researchers.
The team headed by NCP MP Supriya Sule met with leaders of the ruling coalition party, the African National Congress (ANC), in Pretoria. Fikile Mbalula, the secretary-general of the ANC, denounced terrorism in all of its manifestations and pledged support for India. Mbalula reiterated the ANC’s resolve to support India at this trying period and underlined the value of international cooperation in combating terrorism and advancing peace and security. The delegation also met with Deputy Minister Kenneth Morolong and South African lawmakers, presenting India’s counterterrorism policy, which holds terrorists and those who support them equally accountable.
The delegation headed by BJP MP Baijayant Panda stopped at the Gulf Research Center and the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences in Riyadh. Panda talked about prospects for cooperation in security research and education, as well as India’s strict zero-tolerance policy against cross-border terrorism, especially that which comes from Pakistan. The Indian Embassy in Riyadh emphasized the close ties between Saudi Arabia and India in the security and defense sectors, citing Operation Sindoor as evidence of India’s resolve.
The team headed by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor met with Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Carlos Arturo Hoyos and Panamanian President Jose Raul Mulino Quintero in Panama City. The President affirmed that terrorism has no place in the modern world and conveyed his understanding and support for India’s struggle against it. The Embassy of India in Panama reiterated the government’s unambiguous message: zero tolerance for terrorism. The group also met with Foreign Minister Javier Martinez-Acha and other officials.
India’s zero-tolerance policy against terrorism was reiterated when the delegation lead by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad met with top Italian officials in Rome. The team expressed India’s unwavering commitment to fighting terrorism in all its manifestations, including holding those responsible for aiding and abetting terrorists accountable, according to the Indian Embassy in Rome.
Maria Tripodi, the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, reaffirmed Italy’s dedication to fighting terrorism and maintaining the strategic alliance between Italy and India. Additionally, the team met with the European Commission and Committee on Foreign Affairs, where Senator Giulio Tremonti expressed gratitude for the outreach and discussed common stances on terrorism.
Following Pakistan’s attempts to assault Indian military bases and India’s May 7, 2025, Operation Sindoor precision strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, these diplomatic contacts follow. India has demonstrated its resolve to fight terrorism and mobilize international support for peace and stability through its forceful response and vigorous diplomatic outreach. India’s message of zero tolerance for terrorism has been successfully shared by the all-party delegations, winning broad international support and reaffirming the need for coordinated worldwide action to combat this enduring danger.
