The chief minister highlighted Assam’s safe environment and policies that welcome investors. In order to complete investment plans and partnerships, he invited Japanese companies to attend the next Advantage Assam 2.0 meeting.
Sarma suggested extending Toyota’s talent development programs at regional institutions and setting up an automobile ancillary plant in Assam during talks with Terutoshi Hamano of Toyota Motor Corporation.
Sarma discussed establishing financial connections for regional businesses and enabling Japanese corporations to invest in Assam’s expanding market with Takao Hosoya, CEO of Mizuho Securities India.
In order to support research and skill development in Assam, the Chief Minister also engaged with leaders from a number of Japanese universities, promoting academic partnerships and student exchange initiatives.
Sarma’s visit is regarded as a crucial step in raising Assam’s profile internationally, especially in Japan. He pointed out that this involvement is a reflection of Japanese companies’ increasing interest in India’s northeastern states, which are becoming more and more acknowledged for their potential for economic growth. The journey has laid the foundation for upcoming partnerships that could have a big positive impact on Assam’s economy.
