Earlier, US President Donald Trump called Modi to wish him a happy birthday, highlighting their personal friendship by calling him a buddy and calling his leadership “tremendous.”
Trump also linked Modi’s international position with a larger peace-building agenda by acknowledging India’s diplomatic support for attempts to resolve the Russia-Ukraine dispute. Trump publicly thanked Modi for his support, sharing the call’s details on Truth Social. This shows that under his administration, Washington and New Delhi are becoming more aligned on international security problems.
In response to Trump, Prime Minister Modi wrote on X, calling the US President “my friend” in return. Projecting continuity in strategic collaboration, Modi reaffirmed India’s strong commitment to furthering the India-US Comprehensive Global Partnership.
Additionally, he pledged support for Trump’s efforts to find a peaceful end to the conflict in Ukraine, portraying India as a positive diplomatic player interacting with both Russia and the US.
