In an effort to fortify their lately improving bilateral relations, Bangladesh and Pakistan intend to launch direct flights. Mohammad Iqbal Hussain, Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, made the news on January 26, 2025, at a press conference in Peshawar.
He underlined that these direct flights would improve communication and travel between the two countries, promoting collaboration in areas including trade, tourism, and education.
Although the precise start date of these flights has not yet been made public, the move is regarded as a major step in strengthening diplomatic and commercial ties. Hussain pointed out that this action is in line with the established trade lines that connect Chattogram and Karachi between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
Along with mentioning investment prospects in regions like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, notably in the healthcare and industrial sectors, he also emphasised the growing demand for Bangladeshi goods in Pakistan.
Talks are apparently under progress to handle visa complications that could impact travel between the two countries, in addition to the emphasis on air connection. This program is part of a larger effort by both countries to improve their connection in a number of areas, such as economic and cultural exchanges.
