During ‘Exercise Vayu Shakti 2024’ at Pokhran Range, close to Jaisalmer, on Saturday, the Indian Air Force (IAD) demonstrated its combat weaponry. During the drill, a number of the nation’s impressive aviation assets, such as Rafale fighters, LCH Prachand Chinooks, and Apaches, made their debuts showcasing their capabilities.

The primary guest of the ceremony was General Anil Chauhan, the primary of Defence Staff.

The National Anthem was playing as three Chetak helicopters carrying the Air Force ensign and the National Flag flew past the stadium to begin the day-and-night exercise.

The first-ever appearance of Rafale jets in this type of exercise came next. The vicious machines engaged an airborne target effectively after performing a Sonic Boom.

The Vayushakti this year featured the theme “Lightning Strike from the Sky,” with 120 aircraft showcasing the lAF’s offensive capabilities both during the day and at night.

Participating in the exercise were fighters from the Indian Air Force, including the Rafale, Su-30 MKI, MiG-29, Mirage-2000, Tejas, and Hawk. With lethal accuracy, the IAF fleet’s planes attacked and destroyed simulated enemy targets both on the ground and in the air.

The locally produced Tejas aircraft also demonstrated its swing-role potential by using a missile to take out an aerial target and then using explosives to engage a ground target.

Additionally, the lAF demonstrated a long-range unmanned drone that precisely destroyed a mock enemy radar installation.

Transport aircraft’s combat support duties included a containerised delivery.

Approximately fifty tonnes of ordnance were dropped over a two square km area in a mere two hours during the exhibition.

The engagement demonstrated the IAF’s capacity for precise targeting and offensive lethality.
