According to the Ministry of Labour, Taiwan and India signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Friday, indicating a desire to use India as a source of migrant labour for Taiwan. This information was first published by the Taiwanese newspaper CNA.

Before a formal announcement on the policy is made, the two nations will meet to work out the details, the ministry said in a statement released on Friday.

The MOU states that Taiwan will have the last say on the number of Indian migrant workers it accepts and the industries in which they are permitted to work, according to the ministry.
