In a confrontation with security forces, three Maoists were killed.

On Sunday, January 12, 2025, three Maoists were killed in a clash with government troops in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district. Based on particular intelligence about the Maoist presence in the area, a coordinated anti-Maoist operation was launched in the Indravati National Park area, where the gunfight took place. Members of the District Force, Special Task Force, and District Reserve Guard (DRG) participated in the operation.

Following the gunfight, bombs, guns, including automatic weapons, and the bodies of the three Maoists who had been killed were found. During this interaction, no security officers were reported injured. This act contributes to the state’s continuous efforts to combat the Maoist insurgency; so far this year, 12 Maoists have been killed in separate encounters in Chhattisgarh.

Security forces are still fighting the Maoist insurgency in the area, which is still a hub for Maoist activity. 219 Maoists were slain in different clashes in Chhattisgarh last year alone.
