On January 17, 2025, the Border Security Force (BSF) held a Field Commanders’ Conference at its Eastern Command headquarters in Kolkata. The purpose of this discussion was to discuss the growing difficulties in securing the border between Bangladesh and India.
Reviewing operational strategies and difficulties was the main emphasis of the conference, especially in view of the growing border tensions. Using developing technology to improve monitoring and surveillance was one topic of discussion.
Enhancing cooperation with nearby border villages was prioritized in order to better handle cross-border problems including cattle smuggling and human trafficking. This is crucial since India and Bangladesh’s bilateral relations have been strained by these problems.
