India and Vietnam Coast Guards convene at a high level and decide to enhance their cooperation.

From February 19 to 23, Director General Rakesh Pal, the head of the Indian Coast Guard, will be in India to receive a delegation of six Vietnamese Coast Guard officials.

On Tuesday, the Coast Guard Headquarters in New Delhi hosted the 5th High-Level Meeting. Major General Ngo Binh Minh, Commander of VCG Region-3, led the Vietnam Coast Guard, while Inspector General Anupam Rai, Deputy Director General (Operations and Coastal Security), led the Indian Coast Guard in the High-Level Meeting.

The High-Level Meeting’s main objectives were to discuss ways for the two Coast Guards to work together and strengthen their capacities in the fields of maritime law enforcement, marine pollution response, and search and rescue.

Both parties decided to deepen their mutual understanding throughout the meeting.
