Israel and India Collaborate to Create a Rotating Unmanned Aerial Vehicle

To develop Tactical Rotary Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (RUAVs) in India, Israel’s Steadicopter Pvt Ltd and India’s Lotus Advance Technologies Pvt Ltd have partnered strategically. Announced on January 17, 2025, this partnership intends to integrate cutting-edge technologies specific to regional requirements in order to improve the capabilities of the Indian Armed Forces and Paramilitary Forces.

The partnership emphasises the “Make in India” initiative, aiming to reduce reliance on imports by leveraging Lotus Advance Technologies’ advanced manufacturing capabilities and Steadicopter’s innovative designs. The production will take place at Lotus’s facility in Uttar Pradesh, which is certified by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and the Directorate General of Aeronautical Quality Assurance (DGAQA).

According to Lotus’ website, “The Golden Eagle is a groundbreaking Rotary Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (RUAV) designed to meet the demanding requirements of contemporary military operations. It was developed by Steadicopter and brought to India by Lotus Advance Technologies under the Make in India policy introduced by our honorable Prime Minister, Shree Narendra Modi.” The Golden Eagle, which is designed for accuracy, durability, and flexibility, provides military personnel with mission-critical assistance, seamless reconnaissance capabilities, and enhanced situational awareness.

The Golden Eagle HS (Heavy Strike), a cutting-edge Rotary Unmanned Aerial System (RUAS), is one of Steadicopter’s most notable products. With the addition of Rafael’s potent Spike SR and LR2 missiles, this system is poised to revolutionize aircraft tactical operations. Precision, stand-off strike capabilities against a variety of hard targets, such as armored vehicles, are made possible by these integrations.
