In a major diplomatic meeting ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Tianjin later this month, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in New Delhi on Monday, August 18, 2025.
In the midst of continuous attempts to stabilize the border situation and foster trust between the two neighbors after years of tension following the tragic skirmishes in the Galwan Valley in 2020, the conference provided an opportunity to assess and develop India-China bilateral relations.
The External Affairs Minister also emphasized the larger framework of their involvement, stating that combating terrorism in all of its manifestations is a top concern for both countries. He was eager to discuss this and other topics of shared interest with the Chinese side.
