On June 29, INS TRISHUL arrives in Seychelles to take part in the country’s National Day celebrations.

India’s friendly relations with its maritime neighbours are reflected in the fact that INS Trishul made a stopover at the Seychelles as part of the operational deployment. HE Sylvestre Radegonde, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Senior Defence Leaders of the Seychelles Armed Forces received courtesy calls from the Commanding Officer during the visit. Kartik Pande, the Indian High Commissioner to the Seychelles, was also invited by you.

The ship conducted a joint surveillance of the EEZ before docking. The Indian Navy’s combined surveillance of the EEZ with the Seychelles’ government was welcomed by His Excellency Sylvestre Radegonde, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Seychelles, as a positive development for the two nations’ ongoing maritime cooperation.

Brigadier Michael Rosette, CDF, of the Seychelles Defence Forces, emphasised the close ties between India and Seychelles throughout the discussions. The Seychelles Defence Forces’ chief of staff, Colonel Jean Attala, and their military adviser, Colonel Kunal Sharma, were both in attendance.

On June 23, 29, the boat will take part in the ceremonies of the Seychelles National Day.
