In New Delhi on Monday, Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard had a major bilateral meeting.
The main goal of the talks was to deepen strategic connections between the US and India, especially in the areas of intelligence sharing and defence collaboration.
In addition to reviewing advancements in areas including joint military exercises, maritime security, and defence industry collaboration, both leaders reaffirmed the significance of strategic security as a pillar of their countries’ international partnership.
They also looked at ways to collaborate on innovative and state-of-the-art defence technology to improve supply chains’ resilience and interoperability.
Singh said on social media that he was pleased with the meeting and that they had talked about a “wide range of issues” that were meant to strengthen the relationship between the US and India.
Singh called for more robust action against pro-Khalistani elements operating in the US, addressing India’s concerns over their anti-Indian activities. As part of her multi-nation tour, Gabbard is in the country to participate in the Raisina Dialogue, where she will speak about the challenges facing global security.
According to reports, Gabbard and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met earlier on Saturday and went over a number of aspects of the India-US relationship in depth.
