The Indian government’s Ministry of Defence plans to acquire rocket ammunition for the Indian army’s 122mm Grad BM-21 multibarrel rocket launcher system.
For its 122mm Grad BM-21 multibarrel rocket launcher system, the Indian Army intends to acquire rocket ammunition. OEMs and Authorised Vendors are asked to send details about the products they can provide in order to find potential vendors who can participate on the project.
For the purpose of carrying out artillery duties, grad rocket regiments must be outfitted with ammunition that can be fired from in-service launchers in all types of terrain, including mountains.
b) To be used for carrying out artillery duties in semi-desert, desert, high-altitude, and plains environments.
(c) Rocket ammo that can be fired from an operational 122 mm GRAD BM-21 Rocket System and has a specified maximum and minimum range. A single launch tube is around 2.8 meters long.
(d) To work with the current fire control system.
(e) To be able to continue operating in vehicles that transport ammunition without the need for additional measures.
(f) Ammunition should have a least 10-year service life, with the possibility of an extension depending on internal inspection, subcomponent replacement, and repairs (if necessary).
(g) The ability to be kept and saved in field settings.
(g) Every part or subassembly must adhere to the applicable MIL STD.
