Senior Officers Set Out On INS Vikrant To See TROPEX 25’s Joint Phase

To witness the Joint Phase of TROPEX 25 (Theatre Level Operational Readiness Exercise), senior officers from the Indian Armed Forces have set out on the INS Vikrant. The goal of this momentous occasion, which happened on January 31, 2025, is to improve military branches’ operational readiness and cooperation. Senior authorities gain firsthand knowledge of the goals and methods of the exercise through the visit.

The exercise, which aims to evaluate and enhance the interoperability of diverse troops in practical situations, is an essential part of India’s defense strategy. The fact that senior officers are on board the aircraft carrier emphasizes how crucial this program is for military readiness and national security.

The Indian Navy’s Theatre Level Operational Readiness Exercise, known as TROPEX 23, was held in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) between November 2022 and March 2023. The Navy, Army, Air Force, and Coast Guard are among the branches of the Indian Armed Forces whose integration and operational readiness will be improved by this extensive exercise.

A wide range of marine operations were conducted during the almost four-month-long exercise, which covered a region of more than 21 million square nautical miles, from the Persian Gulf to Australia’s northern coast.

The exercise, which included both live operations at sea and in-harbour activities, was divided into many stages. It tested combat preparedness in a multi-threat setting through tactical assessments and real weapon firings.


Significant engagement between the Indian Armed Forces was made possible by TROPEX 23, which improved interoperability across many services. To enhance joint operational capabilities, these includes joint exercises with the Army and Air Force.
