The defence minister at Aero India says, “India can boast of having one of the largest defence industrial ecosystems in Asia.”

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to the Ambassadors Round Table in advance of Aero India 2025, highlighting India’s expanding defence capabilities and continuous reforms to fortify its defence sector.

Singh pointed out that the Indian government has put in place a number of programs to support the development of a strong defense industry, encouraging domestic design, development, manufacturing, and export in the aerospace industry, which has been identified as a key element of the Atmanirbhar Bharat program.

Singh emphasized that India currently has one of Asia’s largest defense industrial ecosystems, offering international businesses a number of chances to form alliances and undertake joint ventures in the aerospace and defense industries. He said, “The Indian aerospace and defence sector represents an attractive opportunity for foreign companies seeking to establish new ventures and partnerships”

An important occasion for promoting international collaboration and exhibiting India’s defence technological innovations is the forthcoming Aero India 2025 exhibition, which will take place at Bangalore’s Yelahanka Air Force Station from February 10–14. In a geopolitical environment that is changing quickly, Singh urged like-minded countries to work together to address both strategic and tactical needs.

In order to stay up with international trends in warfare, the defense minister also emphasized the significance of adopting cutting-edge technologies like autonomous systems and artificial intelligence. In order to keep India competitive on the global scene, he advocated for more investment in these fields.

Singh’s comments at Aero India 2025 demonstrate India’s goal of becoming an independent and creative leader in the world’s defense sector, promoting both domestic development and international collaborations.
