The Indian Army is supplied with RCWS by TATA Advanced Systems Limited.

The Indian Army has received Remote Controlled Weapon Stations (RCWS) for armored vehicles from TASL (TATA Advanced Systems Limited). The Russian NSV 12.7 mm heavy machine gun (HMG) is fitted to these RCWSs. These RCWSs will be installed on Indian Army tanks, such as the T-72 MBT (Main Battle Rank), after TASL finished delivering about 100 of them to the Indian Army in late 2024.

In late 2024, TASL delivered about 100 of these RCWSs to the Indian Army.

equipped with a laser rangefinder (LRF), thermal camera, and day camera for both day and night operations.

Elevation: between -10° and 78°

Range of aim: approximately 4 km

The Russian NSV 12.7 mm heavy machine gun (HMG), which can fire 700–800 rounds per minute, is fitted to the RCWSs. It is gas-operated, has an air-cooled barrel, and is fed by 50-round linked belts.

Soldiers can fire at targets from inside the vehicle’s secure perimeter thanks to RCWSs. Using an operating console and joystick, the operator can operate the gun and sight from inside the turret. The system uses a two-axis self-stabilized platform to stabilize the NSVT 12.7 mm or PKT 7.62 mm machine gun.

For lighter platforms, such as standard vehicles or unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), a smaller RCWS version with a 7.62 mm medium machine gun is also offered. With an elevation range of -7° to 60° and a target range of roughly 2 km, this scaled-down version has both a day camera and a thermal camera.

Additionally, TASL offers smaller RCWSs that can be mounted on regular vehicles or unmanned ground vehicles (UGV) and are outfitted with a 7.62 mm medium machine gun.
