Manmohan Singh was the victim, who was killed on Saturday in the Kakshal neighbourhood by unidentified assailants.

A spokesman for the capital city police claimed on Saturday night that “Manmohan Singh, 34, was travelling home in an auto-rickshaw on Saturday evening when unidentified armed men opened fire on him near Guldara, Kakshal.”

He was rushed to the hospital, but his injuries proved fatal. Senior police officers and investigation teams have reportedly hurried to the scene to gather CCTV footage and other evidence, according to the official. A search effort was also started in the area to find the offenders, according to The News International.

The capital city police have been charged with making the quickest possible arrests, according to Inspector General of Police Akhtar Hayat Khan.

Another Sikh was shot and hurt the day before in the Dabgari neighbourhood of the province capital. Locals were alarmed by the second incidence in two days.

The victim, Tarlug Singh, the son of Makhan Singh, was shot in the leg at Dabgari by unknown armed men.

His condition was no longer in danger when he was transported to the hospital. A Sikh was recently shot and killed in his store in Dir Colony. Sikh attacks were also recorded last year close to Kohat Adda and Sarband.

This year in Pakistan, there have been three attacks against members of the Sikh community. Sardar Singh was killed in a drive-by shooting last month in the eastern city of Lahore. Singh, 63, was shot in the head and died as a result. According to Pakistan Today, police officer Asad Abbas claimed that the incident injured the bodyguard.

Dayal Singh was slain by gunmen in Peshawar in April. Two Sikhs were murdered by gunmen in the same city in May 2022.

Asian Lite International stated that two Sikh traders, Kuljeet and Ranjit Singh, were killed on the outskirts of Peshawar, in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, on May 15 of last year.

The ‘twelfth’ incidence involving Sikhs being attacked by radicals in the KP area alone was documented between 2014 and 2022. Additionally, Satnam Singh, a Sikh doctor of unani medicine, was killed in his Peshawar clinic in September of last year, according to the article, which also included local sources.
