Policeman killed and several others injured in Baluchistan by a female suicide attacker.
According to Kech Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mohammad Baloch, the suicide assault took place in Turbat, Baluchistan, and a female police officer was among those hurt.
He continued by saying that the area had been cordoned off by security personnel and the bomb squad while additional investigation was carried out.
Balochistan’s Chief Minister, Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo, denounced the explosion and expressed sorrow over the reports of the killed and hurt police officers. According to Dawn, he also expressed his sympathies to their families.
“Terrorism’s objective is to stop progress and terrify the security forces. The chief minister said in a statement that terrorists’ nefarious objectives would never succeed and that such actions would not weaken the security forces’ resolve or bravery.
According to Dawn, he added that by continuing the development process, the welfare of the populace would be guaranteed and the province’s backwardness would be removed. He further stated that “the sensible people of Makran will thwart the ambitions of elements who are against development.”
The act was denounced and a report was requested by Mir Ziaullah Langove, the interior minister of Baluchistan. He praised the sacrifices made by security personnel and declared that terrorist plans carried out at the behest of “foreign forces” will be foiled. Langove declared that “the fight against terrorism will go on until peace is achieved” and he offered prayers for the injured and the dead.
In a December attack in Turbat, four security men were killed and one suffered injuries. As reported by Dawn, unidentified terrorists ambushed a Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan (South) vehicle in Turbat’s Dannuk Gogdan neighbourhood.
After a fierce exchange of gunfire between the FC men and the attackers, four people were killed, including a subedar.
It is also important to note that Shari Baloch, alias Brimash, the suicide bomber who carried out the attack on the Karachi University in April 2022, was born in Turbat in 1991, according to Dawn.
