Piyush Goyal Increases US Investor Outreach and Pursues International Companies for Larger India Bets

During his visit to the United States, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has stepped up his interactions with significant international investors and business executives. He has used a number of high-level meetings in New York to position India as a top choice for long-term investment, manufacturing, and business expansion.

The talks were a part of a larger initiative to improve cooperation in financial services, wealth management, manufacturing, and consumer markets as well as to expand foreign investment ties with India.

A meeting with Jonathan Gray, the president and chief operating officer of Blackstone, and Prakash Melwani, the chairman of the company’s international private equity division, was one of the major events.
