To increase domestic aero-engine capability, the defense minister will initiate the expansion of Shakti engines at HAL’s Sunabeda hub.

On October 6, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will visit HAL’s Sunabeda site in the Koraput region of Odisha to lay the foundation stone for new infrastructure related to the Shakti engine project.

India’s ambitions to increase domestic aero-engine manufacturing capacity and lessen dependency on imported technologies are anticipated to be strengthened by the new facilities.

For many years, HAL’s Koraput division has been an essential component of the nation’s military engine production, maintenance, and overhaul ecology.

Prior to the minister’s visit, extensive security measures have been implemented.

In addition to helping larger national initiatives to improve domestic engine production and technological competence, the projected expansion is anticipated to strengthen HAL’s position in India’s aerospace and defense manufacturing scene.
